LIVINGSTONE PARK

Public BBQ

Nestled alongside a babbling creek in Omeo's town centre, Livingstone Park presents an unexpectedly charming blend of recreation and respite. The freshwater swimming hole offers a delightful escape from alpine touring, with observant visitors occasionally spotting gold flecks glinting in the creek bed stones - a gentle nod to the region's mining heritage. Free camping spots dot the riverside, well beyond the main carpark, while hot showers and clean toilets provide civilised amenities that belie the remote location. Exercise equipment anchors one end of the park, bike tracks weave through the grounds, and a historic pool adds character to this compact oasis. Local cafes and bakeries sit within easy walking distance, making provisions simple. The occasional snake crossing adds authentic High Country wildlife encounters to an otherwise peaceful setting perfect for families seeking an affordable overnight stop.
